Chukka boots and desert boots are both ankle-length boots with 2-3 eyelets for laces; although both boots are very similar in style, desert boots are looser in the ankle. Chukka boots were worn casually in the 40's-50's and became popular from polo (the game). Desert boots however, were worn during WWII by the British force in the Western Desert.
